Sydney Leathermen's Picnic

Lachlan Reserve Centennial Park

Sunday, 7th December 2025

Sr Eileen Dover and Sr Rowena joined the Sydney Leather Men’s Picnic in a spirit of warmth, celebration, and community solidarity. Their presence honoured the leather community’s deep commitment to chosen family, mutual care, and unapologetic authenticity, offering blessing, laughter, and a visible reminder that joy, kink, and compassion belong beautifully together in public life.

The event was held at Lachlan Reserve Centennial Park from midday on Sun 7th Dec 2025 with the intrepid Sr Eileen and Sr Rowena arriving shortly after 1.00 pm to join our lovely leather men. Sr Eileen was well equipped with paddle and lash in hand and we did quip on the way to finding the leather men group in the park that it might be best if we did not accidentally stumble upon a childcare group out celebrating the day and they mistakenly assuming that we there to discipline badly behaving minors - we suspect the police may have been called shortly thereafter had this version of events actually had taken place.

We were actually invited to attend this event by young Master Luis who is the current title holder of Sydney Leather Man 2025 - so thankyou Master Luis for the invitation and plying with us chilled libations and tasty nutritional treats upon arrival to keep us in good cheer and fettle for the days events.

Sisters returned to their traditional roots by opening up proceedings with some chorusing and urging the gathered faithful to join in by providing them song sheets to a slightly perverse verse from the Sound of Music of "My Favourite Things".

As Sr Eileen stated, the version of the song we had in our possession was in fact an original intended for the movie - but censorship clearly got in the road of a good time and was thus withdrawn - but it has been saved by the Sisters for future generations to enjoy.

Sr Eileen led the blessing with an order of service that was crafted and cobbled together by him as an original work, that was apart from being a kick arse blessing was also eloquent in the homage that it paid to the Leather Community (well done Sr ED XX)

A lovely afternoon was spent with the leather men imbibing in chit chat and gossiping, we adjourned at approximately 3.00 pm whereby on departure Sr Eileen was so inspired by his afternoon outing with the Leather men that he feels compelled now to try and incorporate little licks of leather here and there into his Habit, the unknown part of the equation is whether or not the Janome sewing machine that he has at home is up to the job or not!
